Voice picking
Voice picking is a generic term describing use of speech recognition and speech synthesis in interaction with Warehouse Management Systems. In a system using voice picking, every individual worker is equipped with a wireless, wearable computer connected to WMS via radio frequency local area network. Communication between worker and computer system takes place through a headset with a microphone – all picking instructions from the computer and confirmations/queries are in verbal form.
Voice picking has several advantages over traditional WMS user interfaces – frequency of incorrect picks is dramatically reduced, while efficiency of warehouse operatives increases due to a fact that voice picking is completely hands-free.
PCSYS provides voice picking hardware and software solutions based on technology developed by VoCollect – leaders in voice technology developed for unique needs of Warehouse Management Systems. For further information, please contact PCSYS representatives.
